i had a recent request regarding gift certificates. currently i am working on a way for you to purchase them via the blogsite, but in the meantime the best way is to contact me. i love when photography is given as a gift!

it’s frigid outside. yeah, i know you know that, but i just thought i’d state it. the worst part about the cold for me, not being busy. i get antsy to do a shoot, even on soggy cold days, so i started a 365 project with a friend of mine. a word a week, interpreted differently each day, and we match our pictures up daily. if your interested in see the full project visit the blog and look around. and if your here wondering if i’m up for sessions out in this weather, always! icy breath clouds, frosty windows and snow…. sounds like a picture perfect situation to me. i leave you with a daily match up from day 9 of the project:

i’ve recently upgraded some camera equipment and i have a few items for sale.
first up a canon rebel xt body with a camera bag. this is a fantastic camera for anyone getting into dslr photography, for a hobbyist, or even someone starting out on the journey of starting their photography business. i have recommended it over and over again, the quality for this little compact dslr is fantastic. however i can only use so many camera’s and this one deserves to be loved by someone. it’s available for $250 and comes with all the original paperwork (manuals, warranty cards, canon eos software), 2 canon batteries, canon charger, usb cord, and it’s very own gray Crumpler “3 million dollar” bag thats only 6 months old and looks brand new.
second is a canon ef 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom new in box. it’s never been used as it came with one of my camera’s and i had this length covered already. it’s a great focal length for a walk around lens, giving you lots of zoom as well as coverage of the wide end, and it’s a killer deal at $300. sold
so if your interested, or know someone who is, contact me.

i was inspired to write this after a conversation i had today in light of wedding planning season in full swing, but it really applies to every potential photographers client.
when you choose a photographer, you are choosing someone to come into your life, to take part of intimate moments, to document once in a life time events, to capture you. you should be picky. it’s your images they are capturing. your memories. i sincerely believe you should choose someone who’s work you feel is an extension of you. someone who’s personality is compatible, who puts you at ease, and with whom you can establish a bond or trust. i encourage brides to meet me face to face for a consultation before booking, for families to participate in the planing and styling of their sessions, for couples to tell me their story. being your photographer is a privilege, and quite frankly if you’ve chosen me because we mesh, it’s a whole lotta fun.
make sure when you chose your photographer, you choose someone who can and will give you beautiful art for your walls, not just “take pictures” of you or your wedding.
